Simba's main conflict with another character is with Scar, his uncle. Scar plots to kill Simba, to shame him and eventually to banish him from Pride Rock and claim the throne. This betrayal is parrellel of the story in Hamlet of Claudius murdering Mufasa to take the throne. Simba is finally able, after much soul searching, to return to Pride rock and avenge his father, just as Hamlet is finally able to prove his uncle's guilt and kill him.
